Experimental testing of spring for absorption of sudden impact on spring (Transmissibility)

By: Thodkar, R. N.
Contributor(s): Kolase, S. K | Borade, P. M.
Publisher: New Delhi STM Journals 2018Edition: Vol. 8(3), Sep-Dec.Description: 28-32p.Subject(s): Mechanical EngineeringOnline resources: Click here In: Recent trends in mechanical engineering & technology (TMET)Summary: Shock absorber is used to sustain & absorb the shock & jerk during working / running condition of machine / Vehicle. This test rig is used to study performance of shock absorber at different operating speeds. This paper presents systematic Experimental investigations increasing dynamic load suspension system (coil spring). One of the major differences of this study from previous work is that it includes parametric sensitivity analysis in order to increase the safety margin from the roll angle threshold using the static and dynamic tests and it compares the results within themselves. In summary, within the scope of this work, unlike the previous studies, experiments involving physical tests and numerical calculations are included. Because of the vigorous verification, sensitivity analysis and validation process, the results can be more reliable.
