Personal Rapid Transit System :A Mode of Transportation for the City of Gurugram - Vol.16(3), Jul-Sep - New Delhi Institute of Town Planners 2019 - 23-33p.

Personal Rapid Transit is an inexpensive mass transit technology that borrows the best features of the automobile (on-demand, non-stop travel, from anywhere to anywhere), but glides above traffic like a monorail. A fleet of small automated vehicles, each seating 6 people, will travel on overhead guide ways linking many small stations scattered throughout an urban area providing commuters with better service of public transport. By being fast and convenient, PRT stands the best chance of reducing traffic congestion by modal shift— especially in low to medium density cities, where buses and train systems tend to leave a lot to be desired or in a high density cities serving as feeder to mass transit system. A study is being conducted for the city of Gurugram to check its financial feasibility and preferred modal shift to part resulting in less congestion and reduction in pollution level providing the city with proper connectivity and accessibility
