Study of Equal Angle Subjected to Compression for Bolted end Connection - Vol, 99(1), March - Kolkata Springer 2018 - 123-132p.

work presents the results of an experimental and analytical investigation of the buckling response of single angle and double angle closely spaced back to back for bolted connection. Equal angle was used with a range of maximum principal slenderness ratios to determine elastic and inelastic failure characteristics, including flexural torsional effects. A nonlinear finite element model applicable to steel single angle compression members eccentrically loaded through one leg has been developed using an existing finite element package. A finite element study was conducted to investigate the strength and behaviour of angle compression member. The finite element analysis was performed for angle as per experimental investigation. The results obtained by this study, emphasize the importance of the flexural–torsional buckling mode, especially in the inelastic range of behaviour for angle.
