The Extensible Markup Language (XML) plays a major role in the present world of Web Development. It makes possible to share and store the data over the Internet by the use of Web Technology. Since XML is a platform-neutral, the data can be easily described, structured, represented and exchanged over the Web. It is possible to define the tag and separate the data from the presentation. XML tags are self-describing and support the hierarchical structures. It offers technology and framework to organize the data and exchange the information. XML provides interoperability between the software applications and it support various protocol and format for information exchange. It is the foundation for e-Business and Enterprise Applications. XML also associate with other portable technologies like java and becoming a major component for data exchange and management.
