Analysis of Doubly Fed Induction Generator with Effect of Various Design Parameters - Vol. 8(2), May-August - New Delhi STM Journals 2018 - 10-18

Increasing demand for electricity requires developing new generation techniques which fulfil the demand and keep the environment clean. As per the survey, in the category of renewable energy, wind power plants play an important role in the power generation. In the wind energy generation system, a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) is more popular. In this paper, the performance of DFIG investigated with different design parameters. Study the effect of various parameters and injected rotor voltage on the stator and rotor active-reactive power and currents of DFIG at variable speed. After finding the parameters of the machine, the analysis is done by MATLAB/Simulink. The analysis shows that variation in design parameters with injected rotor voltages would affect the DFIG performance and control the mode of operation: motoring mode and generating mode.
