Abstract: The Smart Grid of things to come, while expected to influence all territories of the electric power system, from generation, to transmission, to distribution, cannot work without a broad information correspondence framework. Smart Grid can possibly bolster abnormal amounts of Distributed Generation (DG); anyway, the present measures overseeing the interconnection of DG do not permit the usage of a few applications which might be gainful to the framework. This paper talks about a portion of the Smart Grid applications, and assessments the correspondence prerequisites of a medium information serious Smart Grid gadget. Two issues that will turn out to be critical with the spread of DG will be DG Islanding and DG Availability.
