Summary, etc. | The project is a mixed-use scheme that brings together high-quality apartments, offices, shops and restaurants in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. The three interconnected residential towers—of 38, 44 and 50 storeys respectively—together form the tallest residential development in Malaysia. They are the first apartments designed by the architects to be completed in the city. The development is located within Kuala Lumpur City Centre—Kuala Lumpur’s ‘city within a city’—at the north-eastern corner of KLCC Park. The stepped form of the towers responds to the surrounding buildings and is designed to maximise views of the park and the nearby Petronas Towers. Slender concrete walls support a series of stacked residences. The internal planning of the units is subtly rotated, so that the glazed walls and balconies of the main living areas in each of the 230 apartments address the best possible view. The offset arrangement of the sheer walls generates a variety of plan sizes, and the internal organisation of the apartments is fluid, to allow each to be individually planned. Where possible, the towers are self-shading, as balconies are sheltered by the overhang of the apartment above. |
