Summary, etc. | Corona Virus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic provided us with an opportunity to reflect on actions taken up by the community and the volunteers in ensuring health and well-being. These actions undertaken by the non-government organizations, non-profit organization and resident welfare associations is the true indicator of country’s ‘resilience culture’. However, current policy initiatives do not provide a direct mechanism in fostering community resilience. It is observed that multiple networks ensuring community resilience are dependent on each other. Therefore, in this paper, an evidence-based methodology is adopted which narrates the performance of the residential apartment design for community action. Semi-structured interviews are conducted with the architects, planners and resident welfare association of the residential community-based in Delhi, India. Maintaining the anonymity of the interviewee, this methodology helps in performing content analysis of responder transcripts. The outcome of this analysis presents a set of attributes for the design and planning of apartment housing. The corresponding attributes further assist in ensuring community resilience to withstand external shocks of pandemics. |
