Summary, etc. | The goal of planning intervention is socio-economic in nature and the community participation remains as essence of democratic approach. Identifying suitable method to ensure community participation through information and communication technology is the new challenge. Decision has to be made on procedure adopted, multilevel participation of various stakeholders and sections of community and extent during the process for participation. The research explores the potential of e-participation tool to enhance community participation for redevelopment planning. It recognizes how e-participation approaches facilitate urban redevelopment process; as a result, researchers can construct knowledge and choose the appropriate approaches to develop a framework. It highlights issues related to redevelopment, role of community participation and identification of e-participation tools, methods and process for better implementation redevelopment projects. It has been concluded in the paper that, even though challenges exist, e-participation approaches offer promising solutions for inclusive urban planning. |
