Summary, etc. Drug discovery and development with the use of new technological inputs are taking new shapes and dimensions and proving its
benefits over traditional drug discovery methods. Artificial intelligence (AI) applications in Pharmaceutical sciences are coming up as
a potential tool in solving many complex problems in discovering a new drug molecule and also at the preclinical drug development
level. Since herbal medicines are also an integral part of the disease management system, scientists are working on bringing Artificial
Intelligence concept in herbal medicine discovery and development through machine learning and analysis of big phytochemical data
through machine learning and deep learning processes. Researchers are taking the help of AI to predict the biological function of natural
products by the use of its 2D structure. This review focuses on the various Artificial Intelligence-based systems and multidisciplinary
approaches for herbal medicine discovery, use and importance of automation techniques and data mining in the natural product
discovery. Overall the use of Artificial Intelligence and its based techniques in different fields and steps in different aspects of drug
discovery are mentioned with their important roles.
