Summary, etc. | Abstract: There has been an interesting upsurge in research on the valorization of so-called traditional materials in recent years. In Morocco, especially in the region of El Gharb (city of Machraa Belksiri), known for the agriculture of sugarcane, villagers use the by-products of this plant (vinasse, molasses, and bagasse) in several areas, including construction and as an effective way to mitigate dust in the dry season by dumping on dirt roads. Thus, this work relates to the study of the compressed earth blocks (CEB) and stabilized using lime and sugarcane fibers has the objective to appreciate physico-mechanical and thermal properties of these bricks. The mass dosages used for lime are: 0%, 6%, 10% and 14%; and for bagasse fiber are: 0%, 4%, 8% and 12%. The results of this study showed that the lime used as a binder is effective at 14%. However, the compressive and flexural strengths are better for the samples stabilized with 8% fiber. We also note that the thermal conductivity is inversely proportional to the percentage of fiber. We notice a decrease in conductivity according to the increase of the percentage of fiber. So, in general, the mechanical and thermal properties of the CEB improve with the addition of lime and sugarcane fibers.
