| Summary, etc. | What makes a ‘good design’ is a question that any aspiring architect has thought about, especially in their formative years. While various aspects of a design can make it valuable - like resolved plans, cohering with ergonomic standards and satisfying the clients’ spatial requirements, etc. there are more profound aspects of a design that give it value. The scope of the architect's work goes beyond just creating functional spaces or engaging users in spaces that are created for certain functions. To state an example, when a client approaches an architect to build a house, the architect has the scope of not just planning a house satisfying the functional and spatial requirements, but also, creating a ‘home’ for the family. Through the medium of design, the architect can largely contribute to how a user may engage with space, and how a user may feel in a space. |
