Sustainable architecture represents the development of an ecosystem in which humans make a balance between society-energy-ecology. Due to huge urbanization on earth, there are very uneven climate changes which result in the disruption of social, economic, and environmental impacts. The focus is on making an environmental, human, building eco-system, that can support the co-existence of all with interdependency. The increase in the demand for dwelling units increases the consumption of more energy, raw materials, and resources, resulting in a rise in carbon footprint. The design methodologies for sustainable buildings involve transforming current architectural design processes, using sustainable materials and technologies, and the design strategies that should be incorporated into design processes. The conservation principles and approach to traditional design methods and techniques should be taken as a choice on natural and other resources of that regional and global environment to preserve nature, human adaption, and civilization. The materials used in construction consume eloquent amount and quantity of energy resources and it results in the production of large quantity of waste. The increase in the life span of a building is equally important in the reduction of material consumption and waste production. This paper introduces design strategies for green buildings, to take care of the environment, there is a vital role of using renewable energy resources by using the latest technologies. There is an ultimate requirement of incorporating rainwater collection, waste management, composting toilets, and the use of renewable energy.
