| Summary, etc. | The book is for an introductory UG course in Organic Chemistry. It deals with almost all fundamentals of various aspects of organic chemistry. Taking the functional group based approach; this text is a perfect blend of conceptual understanding and analytical aid. Strong in-text pedagogy is designed for the beginning student supported with numerous figures, solved examples and emphasis on reaction mechanisms. Highly illustrative and graphic enriched explanation of concepts lays groundwork for better comprehension. Key Features Organization: Content is organized according to functional groups offering two major advantages over alternative organization based on mechanism or reaction types: a) Information content of individual chapters is more manageable. b) Patterns of reactivity are reinforced when same type of reactions appear for different functional groups.
