Solar Steam Generator: Experimental Analysis

By: Tripathi, Megha.
Contributor(s): Chauhan, Piyush Singh.
Publisher: New Delhi Journals Pub 2018Edition: Vol.4(1), Jan-Jun.Description: 25-33p.Subject(s): Mechanical EngineeringOnline resources: Click here In: International journal of thermal energy and applicationsSummary: Energy from sun can be collected in various ways, i.e. concentrating and non-concentrating solar power. The proposed system is based on the use of dish concentrator which converts solar energy from radiation into thermal energy in its focal point. The usage of lenses increases the efficiency of this system; on the other hand, it also increases the danger of breakage and the cost of project. Instead of mirrors, the usage of sheet removes both the flaws. This experimental study of a low-cost solar energy steam generator is mainly done for collector materials analysis, analysis for the values of useful heat gain, and overall thermal efficiency analysis. A low-cost solar steam generator will lead to limited usage of LPG, electricity, and the smog produce from firewood stoves that will make it clean and sound equipment.
