Publisher: New Delhi Journals Pub 2018Edition: Vol.4(1), Jan-June.Description: 14-18p.Subject(s): Computer EngineeringOnline resources: Click here In: International journal of embedded systems and emerging technologiesSummary: The demand of solar energy is increasing in modern days, because the sources of non-renewable energy such as, petroleum energy, natural gas and coal resources are environment pollutants. The solar energy is pollution free and abundantly found in nature. The energy of the photovoltaic cell is a renewable energy. The characteristics of the PV cells are affected due to temperature, solar irradiance, shading and so on. Due to partial condition the photovoltaic output power is reduced. This reduction in power depends on the shading conditions. The shading is caused by buildings, cloud, dust, trees and so on. Different schemes of interconnection are developed to overcome partial shading effect. In this study, a mathematical model of the PV cell and characteristics of the PV cell under uniform/partial shading has been discussed using MATLAB/SIMULINK. In this case, the PV module characteristics are more complex and difficult to track the maximum power point.
