By: Wang, Zhenbo.
Contributor(s): Zhang, Jun.
Publisher: Mumbai ACC LTD 2020Edition: Vol.94(2), Feb.Description: 69-74p.Subject(s): Construction Engineering and Management (CEM)Online resources: Click here In: Indian Concrete JournalSummary: The studies and applications of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) in China have never been stopped ever since it was introduced. As a representative improvement, ECC with characteristics of low shrinkage (LSECC) was developed and field used. In this paper, recent applications of LSECC in China, covering link-slab in jointless pavement, protective panel of external insulation wall and prefabricated irrigation channel of farmland water conservancy, are briefly reviewed. For each application, the driving force behind the adoption of LSECC is first described. Emphasis is centered on the specific design principle and field construction. The experience in China should inspire wider application of ECC in future.
