We discuss here a case of subcutaneous mannitol extravasation, leading to bullous eruptions and swelling in the forearm of a postoperative patient of arteriovenous malformation. We emphasize the importance of careful selection of peripheral intravenous catheter site, especially when infusing hypertonic solutions with propensity for subcutaneous leaks and tissue damage.
