lie of the line: pulling at the invisible edges of periphery

By: Editors, A R.
Publisher: London EMAP Publishing Limited 2019Edition: 2 May 2019 .Subject(s): ARCHITECTURE GENERAL (AR-GEN)Online resources: Click here In: Architectural reviewSummary: Etched fast in ink the line arcs round all of earth. This hairline shell holds up heaven’s vault, holds out against swirling ether, holds hardy until enquiring minds creep up to puncture skin, to break the ceiling over the known world and reach out from earth to elsewhere. The line makes sense of something, gives structure to the tangled mass. Etching fast over blank terrain, the ink scores as parcels are haggled and rehashed. Following the callous hand that draws apart the earth the border rips incisive. Rises mile on mile to plough darkly through silt and shudder straight into sea. Enquiring minds are left to press flesh to salty steel as the wall whispers a promise of grasses greener.
