Publisher: Mumbai Indian Institute of Architects 2021Edition: Vol.86(5), May.Description: 66-69p.Subject(s): ARCHITECTURE GENERAL (AR-GEN)Online resources: Click here In: Journal of the Indian institute of architects :(JIIA)Summary: Collage Architecture Studio endeavours to curate de- signs to suffuse the built with the un-built, to create an in- teraction between its users and the surroundings. Integrating split levels to enhance the visual as well as the physical con- nect whilst having bridges connecting these staggered layers form an integral part of their design philosophy. This not only helps achieve a succession of spaces at different levels, but also maintains privacy. The strategic placement of volumes to differentiate the various interior functions while articulating the exterior envelope provides a relatable scale to the built form and creates interest. Projecting cubes and volumes, dou- ble-height spaces, sprawling cantilevered balconies, flourish- ing courtyards with skylights are some of the design interven- tions which contribute towards the spatial experience.
