Medicinal plants being potent for showing antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antiseptic, antioxidant properties and
so on have found a crucial space in the field of traditional medicines. This article, considering the genus Zanthoxylum, brings into light
these facts based on the proper interpretation and validation of experiments carried out by different groups of researchers over time.
There are numerous other plants or medicinal herbs lacking attention and proper exploration due to innumerable reasons, especially
in remote areas. Accessibility should not be a constraint for effective scientific investigations. Therefore, the identification, collection,
detection, evaluation and preservation of these therapeutically important resources is the need of the hour, which can pave the way
to multifarious novel findings.
