The converter is designed to operate in discontinuous conduction mode at input section and continuous conduction mode at load side. The dimming feature is explored to achieve control on illumination output. A light-dependent resistor-based approach is applied to sense the natural illumination. The proposed power circuit assures sinusoidal supply current and regulated output voltage at LEDs terminals. A 27 W LED system is considered to model, design and develop laboratory prototype. The performance of proposed system is analysed on developed prototype under various operating conditions.
