Wire and cable industry in India is large in magnitude and was estimated at around Rs. 150 billion in FY09, of which cables was approximately Rs 95-100 billion. it is a common knowledge that approximately 70% of the industry is organized, while the remaining accounts for the unorganized & regional level players. However, the difference between the organized & unorganized sectors does not lie in the unit size alone & travels much beyond it. The significant difference that can be associated is the quality obtained from each segment.
