In the process of delivering the project within the stipulated time and the budgeted cost, the decisions taken at the tendering stage of a construction project often have a significant effect on its success and failure. The present study involves the identification of such critical factors, where the contractor has to concentrate at the tender stage. It was found that the factors such as time availability for studying the site conditions, clarity in terms of contract and date of completion and the duration of the project specified are the critical factors to be concentrated at the tender stage.
