Analysis of fabrication methods on Mg-based MMCs ;A Review

By: Singh, Sakshi.
Contributor(s): Chauhan, Nathi Ram.
Publisher: New Delhi STM Journals 2018Edition: Vol. 8(3), Sep-Dec.Description: 101-108p.Subject(s): Mechanical EngineeringOnline resources: Click here In: Recent trends in mechanical engineering & technology (TMET)Summary: Magnesium is an essential material for resolving the applications in automotive applications such as in the use of gearbox bearings, casting dies etc. In the current studies, various researchers have made efforts to improvise the casting methods and to invent new fabrication procedures for Mg metal matrix composites (MMCs). This paper shows a basic study of fabrication methods of Mg-based MMCs. Such as pressureless infiltration, mechanical alloying, stir casting etc. Review summarized by disclosing the best fabrication method can suitable for magnesium-based alloys.
