Publisher: Noida STM Journals 2019Edition: Vol.9(2), May-Aug.Description: 14-22p.Subject(s): Mechanical EngineeringOnline resources: Click here In: Recent trends in mechanical engineering & technology (TMET)Summary: Thin rectangular shell structure with clamped edges subjected to concentrated load at the center is modeled as symmetric structure using ANSYS. The shell structure is examined with different length and width combinations. The SHELL181 element is used to model this structure. In general, the results show good agreement with mechanics of materials’ solutions or design tables’ results. A convergence study of the shell structure shows that 10000 elements are sufficient to describe the maximum displacement, and moment of the structure.Item type | Current location | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds |
