Three-phase squirrel cage induction motors have been preferred due to their rugged in construction, simplicity and its robustness enables them to be used in all kinds of environments and for long duration of time. Out of various speed control techniques, field oriented control of induction motor drive is employed with fuzzy logic controller in order to achieve high performance of the drive. The conventional speed control of induction motor drive is proportional integral (PI) controller. The PI controller has some disadvantages such as high starting overshoot, sensitivity to controller gains and sluggish response. In this paper, fuzzy controller based induction motor drive is developed and implemented using TMS320F2812 DSP processor.
