Emulgel is a new approach of novel drug delivery system for topical drug transport. Emulgel has a double control release like emulsion and gel. The combination of emulsion and gel is known as emulgel. Now a days, there has been great interest in the use of novel ploymers which can function as emulsifiers and thickners because the gelling capacity of these compounds allows the formulation of stable emulsion, cream or ointment by decreasing surface & interfacial tension and at the same time increasing the viscosity of the aqueous phase.
