<br/><br/> Meterological drought  severities in the study  area were assessed in terms of percentage deviation used by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) from the long-term historical data from 1996 to 2006. Monthly drought severity trends for the year 2006 were projected in terms of various thematic maps using ArcGIS9 2.software.
