Perspectives on quality by design (QBD) adoption for herbal drugs and dietary supplements - Vol.53(11), Nov - Mumbai Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Science 2021 - 14-17p.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing has widely adopted and applied the concept of quality by design (QbD). Implementing QbD for herbal
drugs still poses many challenges. In this context, there has been identified two major challenges which include herbal raw materials as
the first problem, while defining critical quality attributes (CQAs) within acceptable limits represents the second problem. This overview
was intended to evaluate the status and issues as well as value of quality by design (QbD) concept to advance and better understand
the manufacturing process of herbal drug products, botanicals and dietary supplements.
