<br/><br/> Pharmaceutical manufacturing has widely adopted and applied the concept of quality by design (QbD). Implementing QbD for herbal<br/>drugs still poses many challenges. In this context, there has been identified two major challenges which include herbal raw materials as<br/>the first problem, while defining critical quality attributes (CQAs) within acceptable limits represents the second problem. This overview<br/>was intended to evaluate the status and issues as well as value of quality by design (QbD) concept to advance and better understand<br/>the manufacturing process of herbal drug products, botanicals and dietary supplements.
