Exploring outcome based teaching & learning in architecture education - Vol.5(2), Jul-Dec - Jaipur Health Education Bureau 2022 - 3-11p.

Outcome‐based education is a pedagogical process which focuses on the achievement of
certain specified results. Outcome‐based teaching and learning (OBTL), therefore, is
concerned with curriculum design and ensuring that the contents, delivery, activities, and
assessments are all aligned to help facilitate students to attain specific intended learning
outcomes. The aim of the research is to explore outcome based teaching and learning in
architecture education for undergraduates of bachelor of architecture. Three case studies
has been studied and analysed in the research by the researcher in development of a
framework for the implementation of OBTL in second year for undergraduates in Faculty
of Architecture & Ekistics, Jamia Millia Islamia, and New Delhi. Descriptive Quantitative
analysis is done through a survey questionnaire and qualitative analysis is done by
analysing students work. Further analysis of student’s attitude performance is done from
the collected data and result is presented for implementing of OBTL model. In addition,
the study found some learning hindrances. A number of conclusions as well as some
practical recommendations for action relative to the improvement of student performance
have been advanced.
