Recent Advances in Vaccine Development for the Treatment of Emerging Infectious Diseases - Vol.53(3), July-Sep - Karnataka Indian journal of pharmaceutical education and research 2019 - 343-354p.

Background: Malaria, Chikungunya and Dengue are some of the emerging infectious diseases whose incidence has increased in the past 20 years and could increase in the near future. Although many chemotherapeutic agents are available in clinical use, yet there is a need for the development of novel approaches for the treatment of these life-threatening diseases. Materials and Methods: In this review, we attempt to highlight some advancement in novel vaccine development in the last decade for the cure of Malaria, Chikungunya and Dengue. The relevant studies published in various reputed journals dealing with different aspects of vaccine development for these diseases are considered only. Results and Conclusion: Many attempts have been made to overcome these infections, but vaccine development for the prophylactic treatment of these infections is still being explored. The present review mainly focused on the vaccines that are under preclinical and clinical stage development and could be an effective weapon in future in the war against these infections.
