Digital Signal Processing is a comprehensive textbook designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students of engineering. Following a step-by-step approach, the book will help students master the fundamental concepts and applications of digital signal processing (DSP). Each topic is explained lucidly through abstract mathematical reasoning, illustrations, and solved examples. Divided into 17 chapters, this book presents the introductory topics such as discrete-time signals and systems, sampling and quantization, convolution, discrete-time Fourier series, discrete-time Fourier transform, and z-transform in a detailed manner. Further, topics such as discrete Fourier transform (DFT), fast Fourier transform (FFT), filter concepts, filter structures, and finite impulse response (FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) filter designs are dealt with in detail. It also covers advanced topics such as finite word length effects, multirate DSP, optimum linear filters, and spectrum estimation techniques. Throughout the book, solved examples and MATLAB-based examples are provided.
