By: Yadava, R. N.
Contributor(s): Surywanshi, Vijayshri.
Publisher: New Delhi CSIR 2019Edition: Vol.58B(5), May.Description: 609-613p.Subject(s): GENERAL CHEMISTRYOnline resources: Click here In: Indian journal of chemistry (Section B)Summary: A new potential allelochemical 1 m.f. C33H40O21,m.p.244-246°C, [M+] 772 has been isolated from methanolic extract of the roots of Lagascea mollis Cav. along with two known compounds. The structure of new allelochemical has been characterized as 5,7,3'5'-tetra hydroxy 3-methoxy flavone-7-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-5'-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside 1 along with two known compounds Genkwanin 2 and Acacetin 3 by various chemical degradations, colour reactions and spectral analysis. In the present paper, antioxidant activity of compound 1 was carried out by DPPH radical scavenging method. The results obtained from experimental finding showed that this compound may be used as antioxidants agent.
