Hedera helix (common Ivy), is a species of flowering plant of the ivy genus in the family araliaceae. It is evergreen plant climbs up the side of trees and buildings. The phytochemical analysis revealed that the plant contains unsaturated sterols, oils, tannins, phenolic compounds, terpenoids, glycosides, alkaloids, flavonoids, carbohydrates, reducing sugars, saponins, vitamins and minerals.
