Sustaining sustainable practices- an initiative by the northern chapter, the indian institute of archit - Vol.88(1), Jan - Mumbai The Indian Institute of Architects 2023 - 60-62p.

While the concept of sustainability is a relatively new idea,
the movement as a whole has its roots in social justice,
conservationism, internationalism and other past movements
with rich histories. In its broadest sense, sustainability refers to
the ability to maintain or support a process continuously over
time, without compromising the ability of future generations
to do the same, thereby preventing the depletion of natural
or physical resources, so that they will remain available for the
longest time. The concept often corresponds to the belief that
without major changes to the way we run the planet, it will
suffer irreparable damage.
