Summary, etc. The smart cities mission is a major flagship programme by the government of India to develop 100 smart cities across the country. there is adequate literature available on smart cities and its associated technologies. However, there are no studies that would address the development of smart cities from the perspective of project management. In this paper we attempt to identify the extent to which project management practice are used in execution of smart city projects in India. Case study approach was selected to identify the issues in a particular smart city project.
