| Summary, etc. | The paper investigates the treatment meted out the term intrapersonal communication in terms of mention by the different users in their posts on social media platforms and in the webpages crawled by the search engines. A detailed analysis conducted with advanced search options through the information and communication technology (ICT) networks revealed a raw deal meted out to intra with only 5.84 crore mentioned exorbitantly 10.83 crore times, a difference of almost 50%. Ten derivatives of the intra were extracted from the available literature, which were found to be used as synonyms of intra. A detailed cross- tabulation analysis of intra derivatives versus ICT networks and websites revealed interesting patterns of mention.you Tube and Facebook favored using inner speech than intra. Good trands showed the people s preference for the word self talk rather than intra personal communication. the networks were uniform in giving the lion s share to inter as compared to intra, but the individual websites gave lopsided mentions, with Google favoring a few intra derivatives, whereas Bing showed entirely opposite results with different set of derivatives. |
