This book was written to provide students basic information in pharmacology with emphasis on clinical aspects and pharmacological approaches to drug-based treatment. Information about the drug is given in detail and includes pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical indications, adverse drug reactions and drug interactions. The book covers the syllabus specified by medical, pharmacy, dental and nursing courses. At the end of each chapter important questions have been added for self-assessment. The book is written in a simple and comprehensible style and is generously illustrated both with chemical structures of drugs and with medical drawings. Topics such as dermatological pharmacology, drug use in pregnancy, therapeutic drug monitoring and rational drug use have been included: these are unique to this book. |
