The scope of the subject covered in each chapter has been expanded beyond the B. Pharm syllabus so as to cater the knowledge for PG students in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance as well. The subject has been dealt with emphasis on practical understanding in formulation and manufacture like: raw material availability in the market, their commercial names and examples of marketed products in addition to theoretical understanding of the subject. Each chapter has been developed systematically starting with introduction, classification, formulation with typical examples, preparation and manufacturing, and quality control techniques. Large number of tables, figures and flow diagrams are given for easy understanding of the subject. Regulatory requirements in manufacturing and compendium needs are included wherever necessary. A new chapter entitled: NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS has been included in the Second Edition to provide the students with an up-to-date knowledge and exposure to this important aspect. Pharmaceutical Technology Volume II comprises of seven chapters viz., Capsules, Microencapsulation, Tablets, Parenteral Products, Surgical Products, Packaging of Pharmaceutical Products and Novel Drug Delivery Systems. Language has been kept simple for understanding of students. Summary of each paragraph page has been given as side notes for quick reading also. Elaborated list of references provided would help the readers with link for further reading.
