Schiff bases are well-known synthetic compounds which are known to be used as drug molecules for various pharmacological and therapeutic applications. These compounds were prepared synthetically in simple steps and used against various diseases as antimicrobial agents, anti-HIVagents, antitumour agents, industrial applications like enzymatic reactions, catalytic activity. However, considering the various challenges posed by different microorganisms to the conventional Schiff bases, medicinal chemists have initiated the novel approach by synthesizing the new lead compounds for different pharmacological activities containing complexes of Schiff bases with different metals as these are new compounds andpotent molecules due to duo combination with metals. This combination has gained prominence now a days against those diseases for which Schiff bases are becoming ineffective, such as cancer due to resistance and irrational usage. Hence, this review is an attempt to throw some light on the recent developments in the world of new drug molecules comprising of Schiff bases complexes with different metals like Copper (Cu), Palladium (Pd), Aluminium (Al), gold (Au), Silver (Ag) etc.
