Recurrent aphthous ulcer is one of the most common and painful ulcerative lesions of the oral cavity, but until now no
cure has been recognized for it. This study four patients were diagnosed with minor to moderate aphthous ulcer by
dermatologist at Aravalli district, Modasa and all are from same family members. This study was performed with the
prior permission from Sarvajanik clinical ethics committees, Mehsana (Ref. SCREC/2019-20/07).
According to the results of this study, All the four patients displayed the mean value of ferritin 9.875 ± 7.09 ng/ml
(Male - < 15 ng/ml, Female - < 30 ng/ml) and the mean value of Hb was not drastically lower and found to be 9.8 ± 1.7
g/dl. All other parameters (vitamin B12 and other blood profiles) in blood testing were found to be normal including
RBC and swab test observed growth of bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) in culture medium three patients.
HIV/HBAG test was non-reactive and ANA test is also negative in five patients of Aphthous ulcer.
The presence of genetic factor implies in Aphthous ulcer. Substantive reduction in ferritin value in associated with
oral ulceration regardless of Hb values or RBC counts. Among likely pathogen of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found
in Aphthous ulcer.
