Resistin gene polymorphisms: potential biomarker for oral squamous cell carcinoma

Methods: In the present study, we scrutinize the connection between four genetic polymorphisms present in RETN gene with the susceptibility, progression, and clinical outcome of OSCC among 200 OSCC patients and 200 healthy controls. Results: The results of the study reveal that among 260 smokers, the risk of developing OSCC is significantly more among the subjects having history of using betel quid in comparison to those who are not habitual users of betel quid.
