Handbook of Environmental Studies, Vol. 1: Water and Wastewater Analysis is a book for laboratory analysts, undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and others involved in the analysis of water and wastewater. Methodological discussions on each experiment is preceded by a synoptic review of national and international standards and environmental significance. Attempts have been made to clearly present the principles, precaution, apparatus and glassware required; reagent preparation procedures of conducting experiments (flowcharts, illustrations, etc.) and calculations. At the end of each experiment questions along with numericals related to the experiment performed have also been given as self-check to gain confidence. Much useful information pertaining to the chemicals and glassware required for analysis, interconvesion of units, preparation and characteristics of acids, alkalies and indicator solutions, and detailed drinking water standards is given in appendices.
