TY - GEN AU - Jadhav, Tushar TI - Strategies For Reducing Cooling Load Of Buildings PY - 2019/// CY - Pune PB - NICMAR KW - Construction Engineering and Management (ME-CE) N2 - One ofthe significant parameters in developing smart cities is to understand the mechanism to reduce the air conditioning load ofbuildings. The present study deals with various options available to reduce the cooling load ofbuildings. In majority ofcases, the traditional way ofdesigning air conditioning for buildings was using rule ofthumb such as 100 to 150 square feet per ton ofrefrigeration. Today buildings are built and operated successfully with air conditioning usage of600 to 700 square feet per ton ofrefrigeration. This systematic and scientific approach has resulted in drastic reduction in air conditioning load ofbuildings, contributing towards huge savings in the overall cost ofair conditioning system. The present study addresses key areas for reducing the building cooling load. The outcomes ofthis study will help the architects, consultants, engineers and building owners to effectively design air conditioning system for buildings UR - https://www.nicmar.ac.in/pdf/2019/03July-Sept-2019.pdf ER -
