Recent advances in management of pelvic tumours- role of perioperative dynamic point of care airway ultrasound and echocardiographic assessment

He had a known history of hyperthyroidism, large thyroid swelling, and severe mitral regurgitation (MR). Large thyroid swellings, whether accompanied by airway comprise or not, present a significant challenge for anesthesiologist, while when securing the airway. The presence of a thyroid swelling can result in the deviation or compression of the trachea. While static ultrasonographic evaluation is essential to protocolize the management approach, the conventional parameters may not always provide complete picture, therefore, dynamic assessment can prove invaluable in decision making on airway management.
