Our nation is in a stage of development where we are fast
creating infrastructure, and heavy investment is coming
into the building industry. This offers us unprecedented
opportunities of growth. However, along with it comes the
challenge of keeping up with international standards of
design and delivery. In response, architectural practice is
becoming more financially competitive and technologically
challenging.
Unfortunately, architectural education has been unable to
keep up with the changing needs, and when fresh graduates
reach the profession, they are at a loss, and need to get further
professional education. These gaps between university
education and professional readiness need to be addressed
sooner rather than later.
