Summary, etc. The application of edible fruit juice in organic synthesis has attracted the interest of chemists, particularly from the view of green chemistry. A series of amino Schiff bases have been prepared in good to excellent yield from the condensation of 1,2-diaminobenzenes with various aromatic aldehydes in presence of mango water as a natural acid catalyst under hand grinding technique. The reaction is green and economically viable. The product is purified by simple filtration followed by crystallisation with ethanol and drying processes.
